Technology changes all the time, and children are constantly finding the newest websites, apps, and gadgets. It’s vital they learn the rules of Internet safety so they can use technology responsibly. The information provided will assist parents, community leaders, educators, and youth group leaders in understanding the online challenges children face and suggest some tips for both children and adults to navigate the online world.  This personal safety information focuses on information gathered from the Indiana State Police (ISP) and Indiana Crimes against Children Task Force (ICAC) Task Force. Topics include:
  • The pitfalls of posting too much information
  • The challenges some types of apps, websites, and games present
  • The downside of posting and sharing inappropriate photos
  • The many types of online predators and how they target victims
